In the age of social networking, there are countless ways to stay connected with family, friends and coworkers. Between status updates, checking in everywhere you go and sharing photos on the web, nobody has to be left out of your life.
But there are times when you're just not in the mood to see every update someone makes, or every baby picture they post (even if the kid's cute), or know every detail about the music festival he or she is attending.
And while you could avoid people altogether by hiding their updates, unfriending them or deleting your own account, sometimes you might want to go about this in a different way.
Check out these apps for when you want to be less social.
Rather, from the makers of unbaby.me, is an app that allows you to replace content from any of your social media feeds with things you want to see. For example, you can replace pictures of babies with pictures of cats.
Cloak is a nifty app that can be helpful to know where your friends, haters or enemies are located. It uses check-in data from FourSquare and Instagram and will let you know where people are located at any given time. Want to avoid your ex? You might want this app.
There is an app that allows you to share all the things you don't like and build one large community of hate. Couldn't make it to SXSW? You can now hate on all the pictures you see from there. Incredible. The app is called Hater, and you should download it.
