Have you ever imagined what it would be like to be encased in carbonite just like Han Solo? Here’s your chance. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is offering fans the opportunity to “Carbon-Freeze Me” at its Orlando location during its Star Wars weekends. Here’s the lowdown on the experience:
It’s painless
Although you have to enter a Carbon Freezing Chamber, you won’t have to worry about pain. Several cameras capture multiple angles of your face, and then transfer those images to a computer. The computer helps make a 3-D model of your face, which is then put on the figurine.
You won’t have to wait around
The figurines will be sent to your home in about four weeks — so if you don’t live around the area, you won’t have to be around to pick them up. However, for now they’re only offering the experience until June 16, so book your slot by calling 407-WDW-TECH (407-939-8324).
It won’t set you back that much
Each carbonite figurine is $100 plus shipping, with additional copies available for purchase for $75 each. But, think of the bragging rights you’ll have when your friends walk into your home and see your carbonite figurine mounted on the wall.
It’s an excuse to go to Disney
You’ll need a ticket to get into the park to participate in the Carbon-Freeze Me project. Think of it as a ready-made excuse to go to Disney World without having to bribe a kid to convince your family to go.
