It’s halfway through the Calgary Stampede and if you don’t have that perfect hat yet, what’s stopping you?
Jenna Hall, supervisor at Lammles located on the Stampede grounds, said business has been steady with people looking for the right hat and she has some suggestions for those yet to buy one.
“The really popular hat this year is the unisex shell hat and people seem to like the darker colours,” she said.
Other people might go for the more authentic looking hats in the back of the store, she added, and many people ask lots of questions when buying.
Calgary Stampede Get Your Head in a Hat coordinator Bev Blue said the program, in its sixth year, is more popular than ever.
“We have people getting their heads into hats and we have volunteers down on the grounds rewarding them for it,” she said of the promotion.
Stampede volunteers will give out winning tickets when they spot patrons wearing a hat throughout the 10-day event.
