The Guardian, along with some 56 other newspapers, have joined together in an attempt to influence the upcoming Copenhagen climate talks. In an unprecedented show of solidarity, the five dozen media outlets have printed a front-page treatise on the need to curb global warming excess. The papers — which span 20 languages — include such big names as Le Monde, El Pais and Novaya Gazeta.
“No individual newspaper editorial could hope to influence the outcome of Copenhagen,” said Guardian Editor-in-Chief Alan Rusbridger. “But I hope the combined voice … will remind the politicians and negotiators gathering there what is at stake.”
