Mayor Mandel officially proclaimed this week Grey Cup Week on the steps of city hall yesterday evening as cold fans and participants were treated to music, zip-line races and fireworks — and as the Grey Cup made its way to the stage.
“The temperature wasn’t too great, but the show was good,” said Dave Clark, a fan.
CFL representatives were enthusiastic about the week’s pre-game itinerary.
“The city of Edmonton will embrace the Grey Cup, probably like it’s never embraced an event like this before,” said Dave Jamieson, director of communications and marketing for the Edmonton Eskimos. “People are ready to party and enjoy themselves.”
