Officials were kept busy Halloween night with a rash of incidents around Vancouver.
Police were called to the scenes of two unrelated stabbings.
The first, which took place at Moberly Park in southeast Vancouver, involved a 12-year-old victim who was stabbed in the stomach.
A 13-year-old boy now faces possible aggravated assault charges.
The boys were in the park launching fireworks when an altercation broke out, said Vancouver Police Const. Lindsey Houghton.
A second stabbing occurred at a Petro Canada station near the intersection of Kingsway and Nanaimo Street shortly after 3:30 a.m. yesterday, where police found a 32-year-old man bleeding from the neck.
The victim is in hospital, and expected to make a full recovery.
Fire crews were also kept on their toes, as a number of blazes broke out around Vancouver during the evening at houses, schools, and even at a fireworks store on Venables Street in East Vancouver.
Houghton said that police are treating the Venables fire as suspicious.
Property damage, excluding the fireworks shop, is estimated at more than $200,000 for Vancouver alone.
