Here’s 3 winter cures for what ales ya, by ol’ Sam

David Van Dyke/Metro Toronto

Samuel Smith’s Nut Brown Ale, Oatmeal Stout and Old Brewery Pale Ale are available in a three-pack with pint glass at select LCBO outlets.

I’m a day late, but who isn’t these days. (That’s my gruff apology for the day.)

OK, I’m sorry.

So your LCBO Beers Of The World/ Winter Warmers mini-guide is in today and again next Thursday.

Unfortunately, the flu prevents me from giving you my take on the three 550-ml bottled ales in the Samuel Smith Selection Box, so I have turned to ratebeer.com, a terrific website for beer enthusiasts, to help me out with their ratings and descriptions. This Yorkshire, England brewery — established in 1758 — has created a beautifully decorated gift box with a pint. I hope — sniff, sob, snort — you enjoy the $13.95 pubber prize.
