Gerardo Gamboa, a cab driver in Las Vegas, found $300,000 in the back seat of his cab and immediately turned it in.
When the cabbie was making a pickup, and a doorman noticed a brown case in the backseat and handed it to him. Gamboa opened the bag and noticed it contained six large bundles of one hundred-dollar bills. He quickly called his dispatcher and returned the bundle of cash to the main office.
Gamboa was asked why he returned the cash, and he simply responded, "Why? Because it [doesn't] belong to me," the driver said. "I just want to do the right thing."
The cab company was able to track down the person who lost the money. Las Vegas Police identified the man as a well-known poker player, but did not release his name.
Gerardo Gamboa just proved that there are still some honest people in the world.
