HRM to face human rights hearing?

A decision will be made in October as to whether a discrimination complaint against the Halifax Regional Municipality will go to a hearing. Lucien Comeau alleges HRM and the province discriminated against the Acadian and francophone community by denying supplemental funding to schools in the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial.

Lynn Connors, the chair of the independent board that heard Comeau’s arguments yesterday, said parties should prepare for a November hearing.
