Almost 10 years after her monumental victory against the Toronto police, Jane Doe will stand before its board this week, cap in hand, she says, to plead yet again for justice.
Doe claims after nearly a decade of trying to work with police and make changes to the way it handles rape and views women, the force has closed off communication.
Out of nowhere, she said, last November the police services board shut down a steering committee, set up to combat the “systemic sexism” a judge ruled was behind the 1980s police investigation into a serial rapist.
