Burke Ramsey, 29, will speak with Dr. Phil in an exclusive interview about his sister’s mysterious death. The series, airing this fall, promises to reveal “never-before-heard details,” according to the show’s website. This will be the first time that Ramsey will talk to the media about the murder that put his family in the public eye when he was 9 years old.

John Ramsey found his daughter in the family’s basement in Boulder, Colorado, with duct tape over her mouth and a cord twisted around her neck. A ransom note demanded $118,000, but no indication of a break-in at the Tudor mansion was found, People reported.

No charges were ever filed due to a lack of evidence, according toThe Daily Camera, but a grand jury indicted parents John and Patsy Ramsey for “child abuse resulting in death.” Alex Hunter, the district attorney at the time, refused to prosecute the Ramseys.

In 2008 DNA evidence exonerated the Ramsey family, according to Newser.

The series is set to air Sept. 12, 13 and 19.
