Lady Gaga’s monster

Love her or hate her, no one can remain insensitive to the charm of Lady Gaga. Wednesday, the American songstress released The Fame Monster her collectors album. Metro World News caught up with 2009’s biggest pop phenomenon in advance of her concert at the Air Canada Centre on Saturday.

Q. You are releasing a album called The Fame Monster, which is a reedition of you album the Fame, why should people buy it?

For the eight new tracks. The Fame Monster is like a work of art — I wanted to create something that went above and beyond music. I also attached a lot of importance to the photos on the album cover.

Q. The pictures were taken by Frenchman Hedi Slimane. How do you manage to have such an individual sense of style yet create music that is loved and listen to be everyone?

Anyone can appreciate my music but I only work with certain people. For example, it is the director of I Am Legend Francis Lawrence which filmed the video for Bad Romance and I am about to work with British photographer Nick Knight.

Q. You are a considered a global icon, is that something you find hard to deal with?

Not at all. I have always known what I was getting myself into and the consequences my actions would have. Nowadays, you cannot be an anonymous popstar..
