LiLo gets Katie’s acting leftovers

Lindsay Lohan is getting back to work with the new film The Other Side. But it turns out she wasn’t the director’s first choice for the role — Katie Holmes was.

“Katie would call me from Berlin at 4 a.m. her time to go over ideas and notes,” director David Michaels told E! News. “The result of our collaboration has tremendously im-proved the arc and dynamic of the lead character.”

But Holmes decided to back out of the film when it looked like there wouldn’t be enough funding.
