A man is facing charges of careless and prudent driving after a two-vehicle crash near Halifax West High School on Thursday afternoon.

Halifax Regional Police say a pickup truck was approaching the bridge to Soccer Nova Scotia on Thomas Raddall Avenue — which is only wide enough for one vehicle — at about 70 km/h and hit another vehicle coming in the opposite direction.

Police say the pickup truck ended up flipping on its side and the drivers of both vehicles were taken to the QEII Health Sciences Centre where they were treated with what were believed to be minor injuries.

Charges are pending against the driver of the truck.
