Man faces slew of charges after west-end stabbing

A 37-year-old Ottawa man faces a slew of charges after a man was stabbed in the chest in west Ottawa Tuesday evening.

A 37-year-old Ottawa man faces a slew of charges after a man was stabbed in the chest in west Ottawa Tuesday evening.


Ottawa police and paramedics were called to a residence in the 1400 block of Caldwell Avenue at 5:20 p.m. to assist a 33-year-old male with a stab wound to his upper right chest.


Paramedics transported the patient to hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.


Police said a verbal altercation between the victim and a 37-year-old male had escalated and that the victim was stabbed with a knife.


Stephane Lafontaine, 37, appeared in court yesterday to face charges of assault causing bodily harm, two counts of breach of probation and two counts of breach of undertaking.
