Man struck, killed by C-Train

Calgary police are investigating the death of a man after he was struck and killed by a train outside Peter Lougheed Centre just before noon yesterday.

Sgt. Eric Langlois said a Caucasian male of unknown age was crossing the tracks at 26th Avenue and 36 Street NE as the northbound train was proceeding. He was killed on impact.

Transit service was shut down and packed shuttle buses ran along the northeast LRT line between Marlborough and McKnight-Westwinds stations.
