A Lethbridge man wanted in connection with a stabbing in southern Alberta surrendered to Calgary police at the District 5 office yesterday morning.

A Canada-wide arrest warrant had been issued for 26-year-old Harpal Singh Dhillon, who is charged with second-degree murder and aggravated assault, after fellow Lethbridge resident Jiwanjyot Singh Ghai was allegedly stabbed outside a community centre in Coalhurst Sunday morning.

Ghai and his family were reportedly catering an East Indian event. Police say they have yet to determine a precise motive for the stabbing.
