Nova Scotia’s Ian Fitzner-LeBlanc is leaving the Tim Hortons Brier a winner.

The 25-year-old Mayflower skip, along with teammates Stuart MacLean, Kent Smith and Phil Crowell, wrapped up his first career Brier on Thursday night with an 8-7 win over Saskatchewan’s Darrell McKee, earning a standing ovation from the crowd of 5,992 and giving him a 3-8 record overall.

“It’s really, really nice to be able to finish with a win,” Fitzner-LeBlanc said. “To be 25, chillin’ in the Brier and getting a standing ovation ... I’ll take that any day.”
