Want to check out thousands of stars without an umbrella? The Jewel Box of Lights at the Bloedel Conservatory is a good way to do so.
Visitors will enjoy an array of thousands of LED lights, including magical lasers and twinkling waterfalls. They will also see hundreds of free-flying birds and get to talk with chatty parrots in the tropical garden.
The dome is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and is best viewed after 4 p.m. The event runs until Jan. 2. The conservatory is located atop Queen Elizabeth Park (33rd Avenue between Cambie and Main streets). Admission is $5.35 for adults and $2.70 for kids aged six to 12.
