Donald Trump is not running one of the better presidentialcampaigns in recent memory. After a June 16 campaignannouncement speech that suggested that Mexican immigrants were rapists, an escalating wave of protest beganincluding Univision dropping their own broadcast of Miss USA.That wave has now resulted in Trump officially being dropped by NBC. Trump had indicated he would not be returning to the flagship “Apprentice” program, but NBC has now officially dropped his Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants as well due to his “recent derogatory statements” about immigrants. Apetition posted on Change.orgcalled on NBC to fire Donald Trump and to cancel Miss USA, Miss Universe and the Apprentice. The petition had collected more than 200,000 signatures.

“You are supporting a hateful and narcissistic individual without any kind of values, both personal and business wise,” the petition stated. “Not only that, but you are supporting a growing trend of bigotry and division in this country.”

Last week,Univision announced its decisionto not air the Miss USA pageant and cut all business ties with the Miss Universe organization.

Both Spanish-language co-hosts, Cristian de la Fuente and Roselyn Sanchez, also pulled out of the show and Colombian singer J. Balvin canceled a planned performance during the telecast.

All three both took to social media to voice their opinions.
