Power problems have forced Amtrak to cancel Acela Express service between New York and Boston through Sunday, the railroad announced this afternoon.
New England Regional train service will operate with additional cars.
Delays should be expected due to the use of diesel locomotives.
Amtrak said the problem is a “commercial power problem” and it will resume normal operations as quickly and safely as possible when power is restored.
A high-voltage feeder cable failed early Wednesday at a suburban New York station, knocking out power to Metro-North’s New Haven line.
