When the number of councillors is reduced from 23 to 16 after next year’s municipal election, there will be serious vacancies around the council table at city call.
There are rumours of renovations or moving council meetings into another building, but Peter Kelly says no way.
“It’s already wired and useable as it is. I don’t think we need to invest money in new chambers,” he said.
He suggested the directors of the various municipal offices like finance and infrastructure could sit in the vacant seats.
