Police were called to a Staten Island home for a possible burglary on Tuesday evening. The door was open, so officers investigated.
No humans were found inside the Mariners Harbor home, ABC7 New York reported, but there was “someone”a bit unexpected living in the bathtub: a 2- to 3-foot brown alligator. The Emergency Services Unit grabbed the crocodilian and turned it over to Animal Care and Control in East Harlem, New York Daily News reported. Police suspect the cold-blooded tenant was kept illegally as a pet. The perp reportedly did not resist “arrest.”
