It’s horrid enough when you’re disappointed after meeting an online date, but when she turns out to be a he, and takes your brand new iPhone, then you’re really having a bad night.
That’s exactly what happened to one 18-year-old, New York City cops say.
The victim, who reported his iPhone 6Plus was taken, said he thought he was meeting a woman he had been chatting on an online dating site.
The suspect, cops say, had created a fake profile. But he also, apparently, had a profile on the same site that the victim identified as the crook, police said in releasing the photos late Tuesday. Call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS if you can help cops track down the alleged thief. Alternatively, log on to www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or text tips to 274637(CRIMES), then enter TIP577. And, be careful out there.
