DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq won the toss and elected to bat in the second test against England starting Wednesday.
Pakistan made one change to the team that beat No. 1-ranked England by 10 wickets last week, with left-arm fast-bowler Junaid Khan replacing Aizaz Cheema.
England’s left-arm spinner Monty Panesar replaced Chris Tremlett as the only change in the England’s team. Tremlett is returning home after suffering a recurrence of his back injury. It is Panesar’s first test since July 2009 against Australia.
England captain Andrew Strauss will be pairing with Alastair Cook for the 100th time to open an innings in a test match; the fourth pair in test cricket to reach the milestone.
