Pantages bar a throwback to hotel glory days

Much has changed since The Pantages first opened its martini bar a fewyears ago. The martini list has gotten longer, a DJ now presides overfestivities on Monday, Thursday and Saturday nights, while Rob and BobScott (no relation) impress the clientele with their respective pianoand drum prowess.

Ambience: Much has changed since The Pantages first opened its martini bar a few years ago. The martini list has gotten longer, a DJ now presides over festivities on Monday, Thursday and Saturday nights, while Rob and Bob Scott (no relation) impress the clientele with their respective piano and drum prowess. As Pantages PR director Christine Dais explained to The Pulse, when deciding on design and programming changes, management sought inspiration from the era when hotel bars were considered worthwhile watering holes to cap off a work week.

Crowd: Plenty of corporate folks looking for after-work drinks, patrons of local theatres, as well as residents from neighbouring condos. Most patrons are 30 and older, but that could change.

Dress code: Trendy casual should suffice. There really is no hard and fast dress code, but most try to impress with their attire.

Will I get lucky? It’s a hotel bar — anything’s possible.

Hours: 4 p.m. to close Monday through Sunday.
