Pearson rolls out free WiFi

Toronto’s Pearson International Airport is offering free web access to travellers wherever they are in the airport.

Toronto’s Pearson International Airport is offering free web access to travellers wherever they are in the airport.

Starting Aug. 1, the airport is on a six-month sponsorship agreement with Rogers, said Scott Armstrong, communications manager for the Greater Toronto Airports Authority.

He would not disclose the amount of the contract.

The service is available on all WiFi-enabled devices.

“WiFi was something that people said was very important to them and having free WiFi was important as well,” Armstrong said.

There were about five-million WiFi users at the airport in 2009, among 30.4-million passengers.
