Move over, Mighty Mouse, a new superhero rodent has arrived.

One Australian man is training his pet mice to skateboard. It should be noted that he first taught his pet mice to surf, because, why not?

Shane Willmott built a mouse-sized skate park in his garden in Australia in addition to mouse-sized skateboards. He’s teaching his daredevil mice to do a number of tricks, including flying through a ring of fire.

“I’m 42 but I’m still 14 in my mind,” Willmott said. About ten years ago, he trained his mice to surf. The reason he switched to skating was because it was too cold in the winter to take them to the beach.

“They love it. Mice are built to surf and skate because their center of gravity is so low. When they do fall off, they want to get straight back on the board,” he said.

While Willmott insists these are natural activities for the mice, he said he has received Internet death threats condemning him for animal cruelty.

Willcott is adamant that he loves the mice and would never do anything to harm them.
