Ariel Castro, the Cleveland man who abducted, held captive and repeatedly raped Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Knight appeared in court to make an emotional statement saying, “You took 11 years of my life away and now I’ve got it back. I spent 11 years in hell,” while Castro remained emotionless and looking down, only glancing at Knight a few times while she spoke.
The court presented photos taken inside Ariel Castro’s home to describe the horrific living conditions the three young women had endured.
