Photos: Police force salutes widow in maternity photoshoot

After losing her husband in the line of duty, Meghan Jacobs posed in a maternity photoshoot with help from the force.

In March, Allen Jacobs, an army veteran and Greenville, South Carolina, police officer, was shot by a 17-year-old suspect he was trying to interview,who then turned the gun on himself. Jacobs had been struck multiple times, and later died in the hospital.

He left behind two young boys and his wife, who was pregnant with their daughter.

Meghan is expecting the birth of their daughter Lennox in July. Earlier this week, she and members of the Greenville Police Department posed in an emotionalphotoshoot honoring their fallen hero.

Photographer Jessie Ellex, of Easton, Pennsylvania-based J. Ellex Photography, posted the photos to her Facebook page, where they have already been shared more than 80,000 times.
