One man is dead and another in critical condition in hospital after a motorcycle struck a pedestrian early Sunday morning.
Ottawa paramedics were called to a single-vehicle crash on Baseline Road west of Clyde Avenue at 4:09 a.m., where they found a male pedestrian in his 20s who they believe to have been struck by a motorcycle. Paramedics said he suffered fatal traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead.
The male driver of a motorcycle, believed to be in his early 20s, was found unconscious in the median between the north and south bound lanes. Paramedics treated the man for life-threatening head injuries.
Paramedics said the man did not regain consciousness en route to hospital. He is in critical condition at the Ottawa Trauma Centre.
Police are investigating the incident.
