Police seek suspects in vandalism

Police are still looking for vandals who smashed more than a dozen windows at Tantallon Elementary School overnight Friday.

Sometime between 10 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday, someone shattered four upper windows of four classrooms at the rear of the building.

In total, 20 windows, including two double panes in the security doors, were broken.

Police believe the suspect(s) used some type of object, possibly a baseball bat, to break the windows.

A church group that rents space in the school discovered the damage Sunday morning.

“There was no disruption to students (yesterday),”

Halifax regional school board spokeswoman Shaune MacKinlay said. “The windows were replaced on Sunday.”
