Police seeking two suspects for stabbing

Ottawa police have released photos of two men in hopes that the public will be able to assist in identifying the suspects in a stabbing incident on Elgin and Frank streets Jan. 24.

Just before 3 a.m., two men became involved in a fight with five to six other males. During the incident, one man suffered a stab wound to the lower abdomen, police said.

The suspects fled the scene in a Blueline taxi parked in front of the Elgin Street Diner, and were dropped off at 456 Cooper St.

While police have charged Ali Dahir Ahmed, 23, with assault, aggravated assault and four counts of breach of undertaking, they are still seeking two suspects, both black males between 20 and 25 years old.

The first suspect has short dark curly hair, was unshaven and wearing a dark coloured three-quarter-length jacket and light-coloured pants. The second suspect is clean-shaven with pierced ears and was wearing a white toque, a white hooded sweatshirt and a shiny dark jacket with a hood and light-coloured stripes on chest area. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 613-236-1222 ext. 5638 or call Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477 (TIPS).
