Police seeking vehicle, body in suspected murder

Police are investigating a possible homicide and seek crucial evidence to lead them to the victim.

Police spokesperson Kevin Brookwell said someone called 911 on Sunday around 12:30 p.m., reporting a man may have been killed in the 200 block of Falshire Way NE.

Once at the home, the tactical team took a man and a woman into custody and found evidence leading them to believe a crime had occurred, Brookwell said.

“We believe we knew who the victim is … and believe the victim and suspect are known to each other.”

The woman has been released and the man, known to police, remains in custody. Both were “unco-operative.”

Police are seeking a black 1999 GMC Denali with Alberta licence plates ZND-189. The vehicle has damage on its front end and the hood is painted flat black.

“We do believe that vehicle will hold a critical piece of evidence … or may hold that victim,” Brookwell said.

Police are also looking for “multiple-edged weapons” wrapped in a green towel believed to have been discarded in an alley near 68th Street NE between 32nd and 37th avenues.
