Pomegranate attracts worldwide attention

The provincial government’s web campaign has gotten more than 560,000 hits from more than 190 countries since its launch.

Remember the Pomegranate?

The provincial government’s web campaign —about a fake cellphone that would brew your coffee and shave your legs — has gotten more than 560,000 hits from more than 190 countries since its launch this fall.

The province says one company, Ross Screenprint of Antigonish, got a new business lead as a result.

The campaign — reported first in Metro Halifax on Oct. 1 — cost $300,000. It’s designed to get people thinking about moving here.
