Porters Lake's Gordon makes NHL debut

Porters Lake native Andrew Gordon received an early Christmas present, making his NHL debut on Dec. 23 with the WashingtonCapitals.

Porters Lake native Andrew Gordon received an early Christmas present over the holidays, making his NHL debut on Dec. 23 with the Washington Capitals.

The 23-year-old forward played seven minutes 12 seconds in Washington’s 5-4 road win over the New York Rangers after a call-up from the American Hockey League. Gordon, a former NCAA star at St. Cloud State, was returned to the AHL after the game. He has 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points in 33 games with the Hershey Bears.
