Prince Albert beats Kootenay 7-6 in shootout

CRANBROOK, B.C. – Marc McNeill scored once in regulation, then added the shootout winner, as the Prince Albert Raiders defeated the Kootenay Ice 7-6 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.

Riley Guenther, Mike Winther, Logan McVeigh, Anthony Bardaro and Carson Perreaux also scored for the Raiders (16-30-3), who snapped a six-game losing streak.

Sam Reinhart led the Ice (27-15-7) offensively with three goals and two assists, Dylen McKinlay had two goals and two assists and Brock Montgomery added a single goal.

Cole Holowenko made 23 saves for the win while Nathan Lieuwen allowed five goals on 20 shots before being pulled in the second period.

Mackenzie Skapski came on in relief and stopped 14 of 15 shots.

Prince Albert was 1 for 1 on the power play as Kootenay scored three times on four opportunities with the man advantage.
