Pumpkin picking

Nothing says autumn like pumpkin flavored fill-in-the-blank. And since we know you can’t resist Dunkin’ Donuts’ pumpkin donut deliciousness, we scoured the city in search of more of these seasonal goods. From sweet to savory and everything in between, even the pickiest of palettes will find something to devour.

1 Cafe Orlin’s pumpkin pancakes may just be the best fall brunch option around. This casual East Village joint serves theirs alongside a creamy cinnamon yogurt, adding the perfect touch of tang to a warm pumpkin flavor.

2 Casa Mono creates cleverly crafted pumpkin and goat cheese croquetas, which are small, delicious fried rolls native to Spanish countries. These indulgent tapas come eight to a plate, a great option to split among friends.

3 An enormous pumpkin stuffed with short rib beef in a pool of spicy curry sauce — this impressive entree is best shared among larger parties. Most inventive fall recipe? We think so.

4 Cucina di Pesce serves pumpkin ravioli accompanied by fresh homemade pesto, tossed in a light, creamy sauce and topped with pine nuts. The $10 price tag seems almost too good to be true.

Cucina di Pesce, 87 E. Fourth St.
212-260-6800

5 Heartland’s fall special, Smiling Pumpkin Ale, is made with honey-roasted pumpkins, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. But hurry, as this sweet, spicy brew is only available through November.
