Report: Madonna to perform at Super Bowl half time show

It couldn’t get worse than the Black Eyed Peas, right?

According to a report from SB Nation, Madonna was picked to perform at the Super Bowl XLVI half time show.

The Super Bowl will be aired on NBC on February 5, 2012 from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

There’s no doubt the Queen of Pop will put on an entertaining show, but the truth is, Madonna isn’t what she used to be in the 80s and 90s. So the question remains, just how risqué will she be?

After Janet Jackson’s and Justin Timberlake’s 2004 wardrobe malfunction fiasco, the acts have been pretty tame.

In the past years, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band, The Who, Prince and Paul McCartney have headlined the half time show. The Rolling Stones headlined in 2006, but just like Madonna, they Rolling Stones today, are not the same Rolling Stones as the past.

While we would appreciate someone a bit more contemporary – Beyoncé! – the half time show is about the music, and as Madge would say, “music makes the people come together, oh yeah.”
