Credit: Google Maps A 17-year-old was taken into custody after a shooting was reported at a Honolulu high school on Tuesday morning, reports Reuters. Police said there are possibly two injuries stemming from the incident that took place at Roosevelt High School.
Honolulu police spokeswoman Teresa Bell told Reuters that two people may have been injured but their injuries are not life-threatening. Roosevelt High School posted a statement on its website that the situation is "under control" and to "remain calm." The school was initially placed on lockdown. Parents were later notified that they could pick up students from the football field at 10 a.m. after their release. The high school has about 1,400 students.
Hawaii News Now reports that the incident happened after a runaway stabbed a police officer who was apprehending him. The news site reports that the officer's partner then opened fire on the runaway.
