Calls to 311 about snow and ice control top the list when it comes to complaints from Calgarians.
City spokesperson Tim Feist said in 2009, 311 received 15,918 calls about roads, specifically relating to snow and ice.
Next on the list was 13,055 calls about waste and sign concerns, followed by issues around blue cart recycling, which had 11,189 calls.
“Those three complaint categories are only seven per cent of the total service request volume,” said Feist.
Since it’s inception in 2005, 311 calls have grown “exponentially” according to Feist.
In 2005, there were 563,206 calls and 311 is projecting a total of 1,135,070 calls for this year.
