The Split Crow has been found guilty by the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board of letting a pre-St. Patrick’s Day party get way out of hand.

Patrons outside the bar urinating and vomiting, people carrying up to six beers at one time, seemingly well underage patrons drinking, and overcrowding were among the violations from inspectors on March 15, 2008.

The celebration left the Granville Street bar facing a slew of charges. Inspectors spent most of the afternoon investigating the bar. At one point they forced bar staff to kick out 100 people due to overcrowding.

Most of the charges in the April 2 ruling were dismissed due to lack of evidence, but the board found the Split Crow guilty of failing to keep order and control.

The board will meet again to determine a sentence. Punishment could range from a fine to temporary closure.
