The Skinny: James Neal scored the deciding goal as the Canucks lost in a shootout for the second straight game. Jason Labarbera made 34 saves in his home debut and nearly had the win, but Mike Modano’s shot trickled through him to extend the shootout. The Canucks blew a 2-0 first period lead, but were able to force a shootout thanks to numerous sensational saves by Labarbera.

the robbery: Labarbera did his best Roberto Luongo impersonation on a Stars’ power play in the third. Mike Ribiero seemingly had a wide open net in which to convert a rebound, but Labarbera’s glove appeared out of nowhere to stun Ribiero.

THE next game: The Canucks are off to Edmonton for a divisional tilt on Wednesday.
