Noticed some city landmarks lit up in pink this week?

City in Pink kicked off the week leading up to the Susan G. Komen Greater NYC Race for the Cure, which takes place this Sunday beginning at 9 a.m. in Central Park. Thousands are expected to attend the event, which raises awareness and funds for breast cancer research.

So far this year, the organization has awarded $2 million to 27 local breast health programs as well as $735,000 for research.

Online registration for the race will remain open through Saturday at noon. You can also register on-site on race day along Central Park West between 71st and 72nd streets.

Free beauty treatments for participants

Fancy an on-theme manicure? The nail-service delivery company cityMANI will be offering free polish changes (with a choice of pinks and whites provided by Julep) and manicures Sunday between 8:30 a.m. and noon in the Survivor Village (Central Park West and 72nd Street).Additional beauty treatments will include Duane Reade’s Lip Boutique, Vive’s Braid Bar and Oasis Day Spa Massage Station.
