Second student injured in fight

A schoolyard fight at a northeast high school turned bloody yesterday in an altercation that sent two teens to hospital, one in critical condition.

A fight broke out near Bishop McNally High School at 5700 Falconridge Blvd. NE over lunch that left two young men with stab wounds to the chest and another with minor injuries.

While police can’t say what the fight was over or who was involved, it was reported they were students at the school.

"Certainly we want to warn parents to be aware of what their children are doing and if a teen is confronted they should report the incident," acting Insp. Keith Cain said. "There is no need for the violence to escalate to this."

While police have one teen in custody there are no charges yet. Several witnesses were brought in for questioning.

One of the victims is in critical condition with a stab wound to the chest, one is in stable condition and the other received only "superficial" injuries according to Cain.
