For the third time in a week, RCMP in Alberta are reporting that awoman matching the description of missing Toronto teenager MariamMakhniashvili has been sighted in the province.

For the third time in a week, RCMP in Alberta are reporting that a woman matching the description of missing Toronto teenager Mariam Makhniashvili has been sighted in the province.

This time the sighting was in Hinton, a town in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains about 280 kilometres west of Edmonton, last Monday, Nov. 30.

Police declined to say where exactly the woman was sighted or what she was doing. They emphasized that the tip was unconfirmed.

The report comes on the heels of another sighting on Wednesday of last week, when a member of the public believed they had seen the woman at a hotel in Grande Prairie, a small city 330 kilometres north of Hinton.

When police checked the Best Western Grande Prairie Inn and Suites, they found no sign of Makhniashvili.

RCMP also reported an unconfirmed sighting during the last week in October, when a woman matching Makhniashvili’s description was seen selling dream catchers at a mall in Okotoks, a bedroom community south of Calgary.

The teen has been missing since Sept. 14, when she vanished shortly after reaching Forest Hill Collegiate, where she went to school.

Despite a massive search of her neighbourhood, garbage dumps and nearby parks, police have been unable to find any trace of her, save for her backpack, which was discovered several blocks from the school.
