Who better to cut the ribbon on Canada’s first ever Victoria’s Secret store than someone who would look amazing in pretty much anything for sale in it.
Victoria’s Secret angel Candice Swanepoel was on hand Thursday for the grand opening of Edmonton’s newest lingerie boutique in West Edmonton Mall and although she had a little trouble handling the over-sized novelty scissors, the store is officially open for business.
“It’s really exciting to be able to expand Victoria’s Secret internationally, it doesn’t really get better than this,” Swanepoel said.
“Victoria’s Secret is really a place for women to indulge and to treat themselves. Women feel comfortable here.”
Annelise Grindley stood in line at 7 a.m. to wait for the store to open to the public at 10:30 a.m.
“It’s good quality stuff and really sexy lingerie,” said the 21-year-old homemaker.
“I’ll be coming back a couple times a month probably, that doesn’t mean I’ll always buy something, just when I have money.”
