A familiar drama set in southern France, Partir stars Oscar-nominee Kristin Scott Thomas (The English Patient) as a bored, aging housewife who leaves her demanding husband for an adulterous affair with a hunky fix-it man. While the performances are strong, the recognizable plot labours, especially because the flashback film gives away what could have been a surprising turn of events at the beginning of the movie.
