Our recent love affair with boat shoes and button-downs is about to go full throttle. On Monday, Tommy Hilfiger launched “Prep World,” a limited-edition capsule collection consisting of 60 essentials for a preppy wardrobe, such as collegiate sweaters, chinos and the ultimate must-have: a navy blazer. Lisa Birnbach, author of “The Official Preppy Handbook” consulted on the project. Modeled after a Cape Cod beach home, this creative pop-up store — which is in N.Y. for a week before heading to L.A. and then on a global tour — will carry the collection as well as vintage pieces and select Tommy Hilfiger items.
