Two men facing child-pornography charges

Two residents of HRM are facing child-pornography charges.

A 54-year-old Sackville man will appear in court at a later date on charges of accessing, possessing and producing child pornography after Halifax Regional Police say they seized a computer hard drive containing child pornography last Friday after a complaint came in regarding its contents from a local computer shop.

The next day, police conducted a search at a residence on Smokey Drive in Lower Sackville and say they seized two desktop computers and three external hard drives.

“We’re not alleging he was actually filming (child pornography) — this would be in the production of CDs,” said police spokesman Const. Brian Palmeter. “We’re alleging he’s making CD movies with the clips he’s downloading.”

The man was arrested on Wednesday. Police haven’t released his name.

On Thursday, Halifax RCMP announced that Kevin D’Entremont, 39, has been charged with possessing, accessing and distributing child pornography after police conducted a search at a home on Eisner Street in Timberlea. D’Entremont is due in court at a later date.
